How did I spent my final week of 2011?

Monday 26th Dec. 2011

This week started normally. Did some work, play with the kids, re-addicted to Civ V(I really shouldn’t started playing it again). But it was a slow week so I spent some of my time playing it.

Tuesday 27th Dec. 2011

My eldest sister was going back to Putrajaya. Last chance to play with R1(Rania) and R2(Rubyna). Just after they headed back, my dad received a call from my uncle saying his mother in-law is dying and will be sent back to her home in Perlis. Then, a slow week turned to a holiday week. In just a couple of hours my parents, my little brother and sister and I were ready to pay her a visit. A trip to KL suddenly turned to a trip to Perlis.

We packed very light coz we didn’t expect to go that far at first. Me just being me, having a bag full of cloth for a few days trip was safe. LUCKY!! My dad was planning the trip as we go. He did ask me to check how long will it take to drive from Kuantan to Perlis earlier, so I had some warnings that I might have to drive far and I was ready and go along with his plan. After a few long stop and a long drive we arrived at my other uncle’s house in Alor Setar at about 10pm that night(we were out of our house at about 12pm).

Wednesday 28th Dec. 2011

Had a light breakfast, then a little less than an hour drive from Titi Gajah to Kangar. Visit my uncle’s mother in law for a few hours. Had a nasi lemak there. Went to Kuala Perlis for laksa afterwards. We used different route to go back to Alor Setar, stopped in Arau to visit uncle Aziz’s house. Had another plate of laksa. Had a very short nap on sofa( I was really really tired). Then continue the journey to Changlun. Stopped for Cendul Pulut.  Straight back to Alor Setar after that and stopped at uncle Shuaib’s house before heading home. Had a big family dinner that night.

Thursday 29th Dec. 2011

Went out very early. Had breakfast near Stadium Alor Setar. Start the journey back home at about 9am. But no, the story didn’t end there. Instead of going straight back home, we decided to use different route than what we took. We headed to Cameron Highland and stayed there a night. It has been a long time since I went there. Had some tea at Sungai Palas Boh Tea Plantation. It was very nice. Checked in to our apartment and then stroll around Brinchang’s night market. Bought some dinner and spent the night in the apartment.

Friday 30th Dec. 2011

Went out early again. Had breakfast than start our final leg of the journey. I drove down from Cameron Highland  to Kuala Lipis. Another place I haven’t go for a long time. The new road connecting both place surprisingly took me less than 2 hours to finish. we visited some old neighbours there. ‘KL’ has changed a lot. We were only there for about an hour. Before Dhuhur we continue our drive home. Stopped at Kerambit for Solat Jumaat. Had another long stop at Jerantut for late lunch. We only arrived at our home at about 6pm. After more than 10 hours checking out from Cameron Highland.

Saturday 31st Dec.2011

The day is just started. And I started it by tweaking my site a bit and writing this post. Had to review this post later and probably making some changes. Probably I’ll wake up late tomorrow morning and for sure I won’t go out for New Year’s celebration. I prefer to have a relaxing night at home.

p/s: I don’t mind a bit driving more than 1200km in the past few days, but what I learnt from the trip was how poor is the coverage of our mobile communication in Malaysia. I did have only GPRS connection most of the time.  Not to mention even at Cameron Highland, a VACATION SPOT!! Very poor reception is very unacceptable.



She reminds me I used to play here when I was a kid.

Just checking out my mails when I found out Nufffnang and DiGi are giving an iPhone 4S to a lucky Nuffnangers making  at least two promotional posts on DiGi and iPhone 4S in his/her blog.

The terms and conditions are quiet simple as bloggers have the creative rights to write however they want to. Not to mention I love both DiGi and iPhone and have no problem promoting both in my posts. But…

I have the problem with a rule that in my opinion crossing my line between promoting what I believe and products that I’m using@ want to use and commercial ads. That rule is I have to use the exact titles they gave in my article. I’m not sure why they’re making bloggers do that but I’m sure they have a valid reason to do so.

I never participate in Nuffnang’s contest before but for the time being I’m seriously considering to submit some posts to join. Who don’t want a free iPhone 4S rite? I have until 28th Dec to make up my mind and write at least two posts on the topics given.

Will I do it?
